The pass mark, in plain numbers — and how to stay well inside it.

The Class B theory exam is short and strict. Here are the exact numbers.

The format: 30 questions · 30 minutes · maximum 3 mistakes. That means you need 27 out of 30 correct (90%) to pass.

What counts as a mistake

Every unanswered question counts as wrong, so answer all 30 — flag the tricky ones and come back. Three wrong answers and you're out, so the margin is thin: build the habit of finishing your mock exams with one mistake or fewer before you book.

If you don't pass

Your DGT fee covers two attempts; here's how resits work. The fix is almost always the same: drill your weak topics — road signs, priority, speed limits — and review every mistake until it stops catching you.
